I wore the Apple Vision Pro 2 every day for 30 days. I worked in it, exercised with it, watched films, took calls, and even tried to fall asleep with it once (not recommended). Here's what Apple got right, what's still wrong, and whether you should buy one.
What's New in Vision Pro 2
- Weight: 480g (down from 600g) — still heavy, but wearable for 3–4 hour sessions
- Price: $2,499 (down from $3,499) — still premium, but approaching mainstream
- M5 chip: 40% faster rendering, enabling true photorealistic mixed reality for the first time
- Display: 8K per eye micro-OLED, 200 nit peak brightness improvement
- Battery: 3.5 hours (up from 2.5 hours) — still the biggest limitation
The EyeSight Problem: Solved
The original Vision Pro's EyeSight display — which showed your eyes to other people — was widely mocked as uncanny and useless. Vision Pro 2's updated EyeSight is genuinely better: higher resolution, more natural rendering, and contextually dimmed when you're deeply focused. It's no longer embarrassing to use in public.
visionOS 3: The Software Leap
Apple has addressed the app drought that crippled the original. In 2026, Vision Pro 2 has 12,000+ native spatial apps — including Microsoft 365 with 3D spreadsheet visualization, Final Cut Pro with spatial video editing, and a healthcare suite used by 40+ hospital systems for surgical planning.

Who Should Buy It

It does NOT yet make sense as a general-purpose device for most people — it's a powerful specialized tool, not a replacement for your laptop or TV.

Vision Pro 2 is the first Apple product I'd call "almost there." The hardware is spectacular. The software is finally growing up. The price is coming down. By Vision Pro 3, this might be the most important consumer electronics device since the original iPhone.
